My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The location was unique with lovely heritage houses being gentrified, and it was conveniently close to Halifax's attractions. The rooms were average, near the front desk, but had some maintenance issues like holes in the lampshades and loose tiles in the bathroom. The dining options were basic, and the service was lacking the expected level of attention. However, the quiet area and the convenience of the location were positives.

Service
5.0
I found the service to be common and lacking when it came to noise levels at night. There was very little respect for quiet hours. Front reception was not as helpful as expected.
Location
7.0
The hotel is going through some re-gentrification and has lots of character. It is up the hill from downtown Halifax, offering a quiet area with a shabby look at night.
Dining
5.0
The dining offerings were minimal with just cereal and toast available. It wouldn't have hurt to have better coffee and fresher bread options.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities looked shabby and could use some updating.

During my stay in Dartmouth, I found the hotel rooms to be very small and cramped, and the pricing seemed way over the top. On the bright side, I appreciated being in a smoke-free room.

Service

The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. There was a situation where they had to address smoking in a nearby room promptly.
Location
5.0
The hotel's location has seen positive changes from a bad area to a more family-friendly spot, although it was noted unsafe for walking. It required taking taxis even during daylight hours for a 10-minute walk to downtown.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was underwhelming with basic, uncomfortable beds and inconvenient layout from the room to breakfast area.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities had some drawbacks, including many stairs and winding passages to navigate. However, the quality of some aspects was good.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, though small, were adequate for the purpose and smelled wonderful, but the lack of practical storage space was inconvenient. The price was far too high for the quality offered at $89 a night. The service, however, was exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff going out of their way to accommodate special needs. The location had its perks with grocery and liquor stores nearby but was also too far from downtown, making walks challenging. The dining options were basic, with no variety, and the overall cleanliness of the room left something to be desired.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were tiny and I even got blocked in the parking area, which was quite inconvenient. Unfortunately, the lack of an elevator made things more challenging, and the rooms didn't offer much soundproofing, leading to a noisy experience with street noise that affected my comfort.

Service

The service was a mix of experiences. While some staff were helpful in providing essentials like a kettle, cups, and a hairdryer, others were rude and lacked respect, even discussing personal matters inappropriately with other guests.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was fairly close to everything, especially in central North town, close to Halifax Common and downtown tourist areas. The neighborhood had lovely heritage houses but was in need of renovation, lacking some modern amenities.
Dining
5.0
Dining outside the room was not impressive, and the free breakfast fell short of expectations. Issues like no parking nearby and disturbances like people throwing food from windows and in stairways were concerning.

The hotel was a bit disappointing overall. The rooms were not large enough for the number of people staying, smelled of mildew, and were disgustingly dirty. The service was a mix of rude accusations and friendly and helpful interactions. The location was a bit out of the way with some dirty spots and spills but still within walking distance of attractions. The dining options were limited, and the facilities were not highlighted.
